Harry sighed, shoving the door to his office open and walking in. Throwing his duster onto the chair next to the door, he sighed, slamming the door behind him. He'd walked around behind his desk and thrown himself into his chair before he even noticed Haylee. "Hells bells!" he shouted. "What the hell are you doing here? Hell, never mind that. Who are you on the phone with?" Haylee spun around when she heard Harry come through the door. She held up one finger in the international sign for "just a minute". "Butters, it's Haylee. Remember? Harry's sometimes-partner? The one whose brother sends you all those goetta balls you love so much? Never mind. Did you wanna tell me what's up or is this something that only the great and powerful Harry Dresden can solve?" "Oh, yeah!" Butters exclaimed as he remembered. "Sorry! Um...well, I don't know if I should talk to him or not. See, Thomas is here and there's this girl.....maybe I should be talking to him. Unless.... Ask him if he has a minute?" He glanced up, taking in Thomas talking to the girl, who still seemed to be freaking out. Yeah. He definitely needed to talk to someone .

He held his hand out expectantly, mumbling to himself. "Stupid jackass. I swear if he's gotten into trouble, I'm going to kill him...." He took the phone and said, "Butters? What's the problem?" Somehow, he knew he was going to regret asking.

Reaching up above him, he flipped a switch on the light, dimming it considerably. He wouldn't want to be in her position with that light either. He crossed his arms and looked down at her, almost sternly. "Alright," he said, "let's hear it. And let me just tell you, this had better be good." He gave her a practiced unamused look. In all honesty, he was a little amused at least. Things would be going better for sure if she hadn't tried to escape, but nothing that couldn't be handled had happened, that was certain. "Who are you? Where are you from? Why are you here? What do you want?" he clarified in a rush, not wanting her to be able to distract him from the purpose of the questioning with more questions. Impatiently, he tapped his foot on the floor. "Well?" Without waiting for an answer, he glanced up towards Butters's desk. "Butters, anything from Harry?" he asked. Without waiting on an answer from him either, he turned back to her. "I'm waiting ," he impatiently said. She sat up and ran her hand through her hair agitatedly. "My name is Bronwen Llewellyn, but you can call me Stormy," she explained. "I don't know where I came from, how I got here or why I'm here. I don't remember anything." She frowned. "The last thing I remember.....I was dead." "Dead?" he asked, looking at her incredulously. "What do you mean, dead? Its impossible to come back from the dead. Unless...." He gave her a suspicious look and glanced up towards Butters. "Butters, do you have Harry on the phone yet?" He hurried back into the office and deposited the keys on the desk. "Sorry," he said. "It took longer than I thought it would. Did you know that most places require a credit card for a rental car? I practically had to buy that one to even get ahold of it." He rolled his eyes. "But! That's ok. We're good to go as soon as you get ahold of your friend." Collapsing back into his chair, he asked, "Any luck?" Silently, she shook her head, listening to the phone in her hand ring as she waited on Thomas to answer. "No," she finally said, covering the mouthpiece with her hand. "I'm waiting on someone to answer this damn phone though. If he ever answers the damn thing, he'll be able to help us. To an extent." She shrugged. "Not the person I was hoping for, but I don't think that he's going to call me back anyway. He's a little warry of me because of something that...well, it really wasn't my fault, but it was. Make sense? Anyway, I'm working on it. " He jumped as his cell phone rang from within his pocket. He pulled the phone out, giving the girl a weird look. "Don't try anything funny while I'm on the phone, alright?" He flipped the phone open and frowned, not recognizing the number. "Hello?"

I walked into the morgue this afternoon, and there was a body down here. I couldn't find any paperwork, so it started out confusing. But when I took the sheet off to take a look.....this girl screamed, jumped off the table and hauled ass out of here!" He took a deep breath, realizing he was talking too fast and tried to slow down. "I was sneaking around outside trying to get back in to catch her and find out what was going on, and I ran into Thomas, who has been helping me. He's talking to her right now, trying to find out who she is.....and she's freaking out. Thomas said that you might be able to help. She swears that she was dead...but she clearly isn't!"

So we can do this as we're on our way there? It's going to be a long drive, you realize. Why can't we just fly anyway?" Not that he'd ever had much faith in the travel industry, but it was something.... It was important that he find out what was going on. "No," she said, with her hand still over the mouthpiece. "I don't have a cell phone. I'm a wizard. Magic and technology don't mix very well. Every time I've tried to have one, I've broken it. It's fine. Wait. Hold on. I think I hear something." He glanced to Haylee. "Get your coat. We're going on a road trip." With that, he strode purposefully out of the office.

He sank into his chair with a little sigh. "Any progress?"

And I was hoping that you or Harry could shed some light on it for me. I'm incredibly confused." She tapped her fingers impatiently on the desk, waiting for a reply. After a moment, she realized that he was waiting for her to continue, and said, "there's a guy who showed up at my doorstep claiming that he doesn't know why he's here, but either I'm supposed to help him or he's supposed to help me or something. "I'll tell you when I hang up, alright? Just stay put for another minute." She could tell that he was getting impatient and was still trying to determine why. No matter what he said, the situation didn't see that dire. Maybe it was some kind of a trap. No, that would be too obvious. Hm. She frowned again as she started vacantly at him, lost in thought.

"All I wanted to do today was to curl up in some dark, secluded corner of the universe somewhere doing some research," she muttered darkly as she followed her partner out of the office. "But nooo, I get to go to a morgue because somebody's brother calls and asks for help dealing with a dead chickee who's not really dead." She got in the car, slammed the door, crossed her arms, and began muttering darkly to herself.

Harry stared at the phone incredulously. "She what?" he sputtered. "Alright, don't panic, and don't do anything. Don't let her leave. I'm coming down there. I'll have to see this....." He slammed the phone down without waiting for a response from the medical examiner. "Stars and stones," he muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose, trying to ward off the oncoming headache. He glanced to Haylee. "Get your coat. We're going on a road trip." With that, he strode purposefully out of the office. Resisting the urge to giggle maniacally, he slammed the car door behind him. He turned to her with a wild grin and said, "well, things change, right?"

He jumped as his cell phone rang from within his pocket. He pulled the phone out, giving the girl a weird look. "Don't try anything funny while I'm on the phone, alright?" He flipped the phone open and frowned, not recognizing the number. "Hello?" "Impossible to come back from the dead unless...?" she prompted, watching him intently. "Look, I know it sounds weird, but if you just find....Odd for me. He'll explain it. He'll make it make sense. He'll know why I'm back!" She sounded frantic and half insane, even to herself, but she didn't quite care. She wanted to find Odd. She had the feeling that was why she was there. "Unless......," he said, trailing off. "Unless something happens. Harry would be able to explain it better. I'm not sure how you would have gotten here. I'm trying to get in touch with him. We're working on it. He'll be able to help. Don't worry. Hold on. I have to take this call." "No," she said, with her hand still over the mouthpiece. "I don't have a cell phone. I'm a wizard. Magic and technology don't mix very well. Every time I've tried to have one, I've broken it. It's fine. Wait. Hold on. I think I hear something." "Dead?" he asked, looking at her incredulously. "What do you mean, dead? Its impossible to come back from the dead. Unless...." He gave her a suspicious look and glanced up towards Butters. "Butters, do you have Harry on the phone yet?" Silently, she shook her head, listening to the phone in her hand ring as she waited on Thomas to answer. "
He jumped as his cell phone rang from within his pocket. He pulled the phone out, giving the girl a weird look. "Don't try anything funny while I'm on the phone, alright?" He flipped the phone open and frowned, not recognizing the number. "Hello?"
She pressed the phone to her ear and barked, "Hello!" into the mouthpiece. "Sorry!" she hastily apologized. "Thomas? This is Thomas, right? Hi. This is Elaine. I need to talk to you about something."
He turned his attention from the girl to the phone in his hand. He held it away from his head as Elaine's voice shouted at him. "Hello? Thomas Raith here. Elaine? What's wrong? Hello? Can you hear me?" There was a burst of static and he frowned. "Are you there?"
He strode into the morgue with his assistant hopefully somewhere behind him and looked around. "What the hell?" he asked, glancing from Butters to Thomas to the girl. "Stars and stones, what is going on here?" (Sorry, transition>)
