(MAGIC AWESOME TRANSITION! Y'all's timeline still stands. I'm only adjusting the one w/my previous post)
It had been two weeks since he'd tried to call Thomas last. Stars and stones. Damn it all, he was going to call Lara. Sitting down at his desk, he flipped through the ancient rolodex until he came to the card with her number on it. He stared at the card in silence for a moment, before picking up the phone and dialing.

"You don't have to be grumpy, little brother," she said, sighing and sipping her drink. She couldn't resist reaching out to brush his hair back from his face again. "You aren't fine, though, are you? That's why you're here. Because I'm worried about you." She gave him a look as though the admission in and of itself had been too much. "Are you happy now? Now you know. Now be damn honest with me, won't you? For once." He gave her a strange look. It wasn't like Lara to care about anyone and even less like her to admit it. "I'm fine, Lara. Really I am," he said. "I just want to be left alone. I have a lot to think about." He sighed. "You wouldn't understand." She smothered a derisive snort with a quickly placed hand over her face. "Wouldn't I?" she asked, tilting her head to look at him quizzically. "You do remember who I am, don't you, little brother?" She shook her head and finished her drink. "Perhaps you should make an effort to explain what the hell you are going on about." She slammed the glass down onto the coffee table with a bit of unnecessary force. "

I don't want to talk about it!" He stood up, hands fluttering agitatedly at his sides. "You wouldn't understand. I....Molly...." He sighed again.

She raised her right hand and beckoned to him. "Talk to me, darling. It can't possibly hurt you."
